Rose Water and Glycerin Facial Cleanser

Rose water is one of the all-time best and most traditional facial

and has a lovely scent.

Place a handful of dried rose petals in a mason jar, cover with boiling water, seal, and let set overnight. Note that dried rose petals are available in many health food stores (as is vegetable glycerin), or online from herbal supply stores.

After the rose petal infusion has set overnight, strain. Combine the ingredients in a pretty jar, and shake to blend. How to cure puffy eyes

A lot of our readers have asked for solutions to puffy eyes. Following tips are some of the tips that have helped our friends in reducing puffy eyes:

Place cold cucumber slices on your eyes. It is the cold temperature that is helping rather than the product itself. The aroma, however, can be soothing and relaxing. Slice them into discs and let them float in cool tap water for a few minutes. Shake them off well before applying to your eyes.
  • Use cold, refrigerated used tea bags. Like the cucumber slices, the coolness reduces circulation, but the tea actually has a slightly astringent (tissue-shrinking) effect as well.
  • For a less messy alternative, try putting 2 metal tablespoons in the fridge and use them daily by placing the backs against your eyes.
  • Rinse your face in cool water and pat dry.
  • Furthermore, get good sleep, elevate your head while sleeping and amongst other things reduce salt intake, drink cabbage or cranberry juice and exercise regularly.

How to care for dry skin

The best remedy for dry skin is also the easiest to find: water. Drink six to eight glasses a day and eat foods high in water content, such as fruits and leafy vegetables.

Bath in mildly salted water (1/2 cup to a tubful) to rehydrate your body.

After bath, apply a cream or lotion that will act as a moisturizer.

For an easy facial, mash a banana then add a tablespoon of honey. Smooth the mixture on your face.

After 15 minutes, rinse with warm water.

Or make an egg facial mask to moisten as well as smooth-en dry skin. Beat 1 egg then add 1/2 cup coconut oil and 1 tablespoon honey. Beat until the mixture is the consistency of mayonnaise. Set an empty toilet paper roll upright in a bowl and pack the mask into it with a spoon. Freeze overnight.

To use, peel away some of the cardboard and rub the frozen stick over your face. After 10 minutes, rinse off with warm water. After using, cover the exposed end of the stick with plastic wrap and return to the freezer.
